It makes New Years so much fun when you make your own party hats!
Materials:
* Scissors
* Glue
* Tape
* Ribbon
* Colored Construction paper
* Staples
Directions:
1. Help the children form a cone out of the colored construction paper.
2. Tell the children to tape the cone closed on the inside of the cone and run a bead a glue on the edge of the top of the cone.
3. The children then trim the bottom of cone to form an even circle base
4. A tassel can now be made for the top of the hat by cutting slits in a sheet of construction paper
5. The children next tape the cut paper in place on the top of the hat
6. Staple a piece of ribbon to the opposite sides of each child's hat. Let the children have fun wearing the hats!

Practice a countdown and a celebration that would follow a New Year's Eve Celebration!
