Go to your local library and check out a children's book which tells about the first Thanksgiving, such as 'Squanto and the First Thanksgiving' by Joyce K. Kessel. Sit down with your children with the book and some feathers.
Read the book to your children or tell them the story while showing them the pictures.
After the story, give the feather to one of your children. Let him tell you something about the story or ask a question. Then have him pass the feather to another child and let that child tell the others his favorite part about the first Thanksgiving. Continue, giving all the children the opportunity to share their thoughts!
